Q: Why would you ever buy a Dodge Charger?
The guy I just started dating owns a black Dodge Charger. Are they fast? From what I hear they are expensive too. Why would you buy a Charger instead of say, a Lexus or Audi? Like what are the pros?

Just curious.

A: You missed telling us what year?

If it is 60s then it is one of the best cars ever made, fast, safe, and reliable.
This car was the General Lee. Of course it is a cool car.

If it is new then he has lots of money.

Either way I might consider trading my porsche for it.
However if it is an 80s model then I would no even trade my old van for it.

Why would a guy own a Lexus or an Audi?
Those are girly cars.

It like a Jeep thing, You just wouldn’t understand.

A: The Charger used to be something big back in the 70’s, but now they’re just a sporty sedan. As to if they are fast or not is an opinion. Nothing compared to a Ford Mustang or the Dodge Challenger. And as for Lexus and Audi, Lexus is a pile, and Audi is simply great. Drive what you like i guess.

Q: I am looking to buy a dodge charger 03′ or better what would be my best option, financially?
My budget is nothing over 10,000 dollars probably a used one would do. Just wanted the best advice when buying a used car.

A: Charger is good, so is Camaro and Mustang. Just avoid anything Japanese and your fine.

Q: Can somebody show me where to buy a Dodge Charger?
I’m looking for a Dodge Charger V6 in Houston with side airbags… links are greatly, greatly appreciated.

A: Go to corporate site:

http://www.dodge.com/en/2009/charger/

Build the car you want and when you are done, do a dealer search for the car that closest matches the options and colors. The site will show you which dealer has them in stock.

Q: Should I buy the Dodge Charger challenger, or the 6 speed manual?
What is the difference between a six speed manual and 5 speed automatic? Does it make a difference on this car.

A: You are talking about the challenger (LC) because the Charger (LX) isn’t offered in a 6 spd. The manual did 1 tenth of a second better in the quarter mile, so if it performance you are worried about go with the stick, it’s also a whole lot more fun to drive, the TREMEC transmission is awesome and has a good feel. If you are just looking to cruise, I would go with the Automatic, HOWEVER these transmissions are considered NAG1 transmissions and are prone to leak out of the 13 way connector on the side of the case, no biggie if it’s still under warranty. I am a huge fan of the 6 spd I would go with that!! Oh, and one more thing, I think the 6 spd cars come with 3.73 gears in the rear!

Q: Was a good decision for you to buy a Dodge Charger?
If not, the why not? Was wrong with it?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: Is it a good idea to buy a dodge charger with 50,000 miles on it?
2007 2008 basic model no higher than 16,000. Ive been shopping around and they range from 13,000 to 16,000.

A: depending on the year of it and the price is right it is,you should have told us the year of it,they may have it over priced, if you have checked kbb prices and its priced right the mileage isn’t bad,but the year and model plays real big role in how much one is actually worth right now, good luck on it,check the kbb price out here on it if you know the year of it, http://kbb.com

Q: I want to buy a 73 Dodge charger se but transmission is leaking how cheap to fix?
A old man is selling this charger for 4000 and I want to buy it the car is in great condition with 88k original miles but under the car where the transmission ends and the driveshaft begins there is some sort of leak maybe a rear seal or something what is that called exactly and can that be fixed without transmission removal?i need to know by wednesday please help!!!how much should it run me to be repaired

A: The rear seal on the transmission requires a Large screwdriver and a 1/2 or 3/8 inch end wrench and about $15 for the new seal. Very simple to change yourself, or you can pay to have someone do it for you. For someone with experience to do it, it is about a 30-60 minute job, should be less than $100 with parts if you have a good mechanic.

There is a good chance when the driveline is out, the u-joints in the driveline will also need to be replaced. U-joints run about $10 a piece and require a vice or press to change them. This will take the bill up to about $200 with parts if you use a mechanic.

Q: should a 16 year old girl buy a dodge charger?
I honestly love the design, and it’s under 25k (my budget)
I have a job and can make the $400ish payments every month, but would it be a stupid first car?

need opinions please!
thanks!

A: i only have one thing to say:
since you are 16, and still young
you would need something say.. a little cheaper…
also, as long as it is good on gas, i guess thats ok
keep on looking, a used car is always the best first car, maybe get a 2 or 3 year old car so you can use it, buy it cheap and cheap insurance.
dont forget insurance is more expensive for new drivers
many people have said that they were having difficulties with this car, and if you dont know lots about jump-starting a car, giving it regular maintenance ( which costs serious money) i would suggest
DONT GET THIS CAR AS YOUR FIRST CAR
(i dont mean to be harsh ok, im just giving you an honest opinion.)

Q: Wanting to buy a dodge charger?
I’m looking for a new (used) car, I went by a dealership earlier today and the salesman printed out a list of their inventory. In the area of cars I can afford, they have a Black, 2006 Dodge Charger, with a V8 and 85522 miles. Asking prices is 13995, with a 3500 down payment.

Good deal? or no?

A: that’s not to bad of a deal on that car, some of the v-8 cars right now are selling at high rate for some reason, but you really need to see the car and look it over real good and make sure you get clear car-fax report on it and also have an out side mechanic check it out real good ,not one from the dealer, but an independent shop, you know the dealers going to say its a good car because they get money for selling it,but an outside shop will be more honest about the overall condition of it,good luck.

Q: where can i buy these Dodge charger Rims?
Where can i buy rims like these????

http://www.autotrucktoys.com/dodge_charger/images/TFPCR-09_A.jpg

A: They actually look like rims off a new Challenger. I doubt you’d find them on ebay this soon. Check out your dodge dealer but be prepared to pay big bucks for them.

Q: Help?! Should I buy a Dodge Charger or a Nissan Altima?
I am car shopping and I have narrowed my search between the 2008 Dodge Charger or the 2008 Nissan Altima. Which would you recommend?

A: Depends on which Charger you go with.

Both vehicles will depreciate at virtually the same rate, so resale shouldn’t be a factor.

Tuning a car … well, you can tune either one. You’ll suffer reliability issues in both, and you’ll void warranties in both.

Personally, I like having the RWD of the Charger rather than the FWD of the Altima. If you’re driving in snow, supposedly FWD is better to have (I just drive my Commander, it’s got 4WD).

Looks-wise, the Altima stirs absolutely no emotion. The Dodge is very aggressive and certainly evokes passion. It’s like the difference between a Cessna and an F-14 Tomcat.

I’ve owned a number of late-model Chrysler products, including an 07 Wrangler and the Hemi Commander. Neither has had any real issues, other than an O2 sensor that went out on the Commander because SOMEONE put cheap gas in the car when gas was freakishly expensive last year. Being as I owned the car since it was new … well, I’m not saying anything other than there’s no way in hell I’m paying $5 a gallon for gas unless it’s racing fuel.

It looks like there’s an AWD version of the Charger, too. Which makes the car a bit more attractive to me, since I drive in California, where CalTrans is often doing silly things with the roads that can make driving entertaining (to the point of being “dicey”) in inclement weather.

Me, I’d go with the Charger.

Q: Should I buy a Dodge Charger R/T?
I am looking at buying either a 2008 or 2009 Dodge Charger R/T within the year to bring over to England. Really want bad seeing that the military will ship for free, but not sure. It seems like a great car and I haven’t heard anything bad about it.

A: My main comment to you is to check the fuel prices where your going. If they are $7-8/gallon and you only get 12-15 mpg in the city, can you afford it? Also, warranty service may be slow and difficult to get where you’re going. See if the warranty is good outside N. America. Good Luck!!
